Manufacturer’s mark
The CE mark verifies that the
protective equipment meets the
requirements of Directive 89/686/
EEC and regulation 18/2008 (XII.7)
SZMM and the applicable localized
and harmonized standards.
For protective equipment classified
in category III., the finished product
of the manufacturing process must
be inspected and the identification
number of the notified body
performing the inspection must
beindicated along with the CE
mark. As it is not mandatory for
an accredited body to inspect the
production of protective equipment
classified in category I. and II.,
indicating the identification number
would be unjustified if no inspection
is to be performed.
