Coverguard
®
safety and occupational footwear is designed to provide appropriate protection together with maximum comfort
for all-day wear in intensive and heavy-duty work environments. All footwear is manufactured from the highest quality raw
materials and, naturally, complies with European Council Directive 89/686/EEC and Ministry of Social Affairs decree 18/2008.
(XII.3.) and are subjected to EU type examinations according to European standards.
Standards
New occupational and safety footwear is certified on the basis of standards EN ISO 20345 and EN ISO 20347 but, since there
is no limit on the validity of EU Type Certificates, footwear complying with the earlier EN345 and EN347 standards have valid
certification and offer the required degree of protection.
EN ISO 20344:
sets out the general requirements and methods of testing and is to be used only in conjunction with the follow-
ing standards which specify the fundamental and additional requirements for footwear depending on the level of risk faced.
EN ISO 20345:
professional use safety footwear must be equipped with those safety features which protect the wearer from
accidents which may occur in an industrial environment. The toe cap must protect the wearer’s toes from falling objects with
an impact of 200 joules.
EN ISO 20347:
professional use occupational footwear differs from safety footwear in that it does not have to have a hardened
toe cap for protection against falling objects.
